Short Term Residental Therapeutic Program Overview

Koinonia provides quality, full-scope, adolescent co-occurring mental health and substance abuse treatment for one of the highest “at-risk” populations in the nation. The professional and confidential manner in which we engage youth exemplifies our respect and compassion for those we serve. Our commitment to working collaboratively with community resources provides a robust network of services available to youth. Our belief is that you treat the whole child, and that the exploration of individual pursuits and interests provide purpose and meaning to treatment.

Koinonia Homes for Teens, located in Placer County, is California State Community Care licensed and CARF accredited. With three 6-bed “male” sites and two 6-bed “female” sites, our treatment teams consist of licensed clinical staff, certified SUD counselors, and program specific specialists. Well trained direct care staff, including awake night staff, ensure safe and secure sites. Our residential sites are homelike, spacious and well maintained.

Transition planning begins upon intake at Koinonia. Whether pursuing reunification with family or entering the workforce and/or higher education, Koinonia helps the youth find their path and begin their journey. Our funded partnership with United Way offers monetary incentives and our scholarship programs help build their personal bank accounts, available at transition.
